I am going to build what you posted previously. do you know where i can get the right compoanats from? i dont trust maplin to give the right ones.
sorry. i have not use the voltage regulator circuit in its place i ues 2 diodes and that has droped the voltage to 12V and is fine, the problem is the bike is drawing the power out of battery when the engine is running. **broken link removed**
and it was the HID light that went out.
the...
Sorry don't no why it linked tht iw was ment to be the maplin site. I didn't ues your way in the end I did it the way shown in the first drawing I sent you before you changed it but have run 2 dioeds on the + between the bat and charger. I have a feeling that the bike is drawing the power back...

i ran the meter between the voltage rectifier and the auto charger in parallel and it read 0.28A and got the same max reading between the autocharger and the battery and the same for between the battery and the HID kit. the hid kit is not in place yet as i have blown 2...
Hi ya thanks again for the help. I'm gonna use a inline switch to stop any loss when the bike is not running.
You say "measure the charging current at the 17V level, this will indicate the current capacity requirement of the diodes" how would I do this I don't understand 100%
Affter doing this...
could i use a Potentiometer to adjust it? if so what type do i need, rember i buy all my stuff from maplin Maplin Electronics â„¢ Website- USB Turntable iTT 05 XL if you could find what i need i would be happy
