    PCB problems

We are working on an inverter circuit. Each circuit works fine when connected to a seperate ground on breadboards. However, when all circuits are connected to the same ground, we have many problems getting some of the signal outputs. Does anyone have any suggestions on how we can test/fix the...

    PCB grounding issues

Hello, My group is working on putting a power inverter on PCB board. While the circuits are connected to seperate grounds (on breadboards), each circuit works properly. However, when all of the grounds are connected to the same point, some of the circuits don't work properly. How can we fix...

    schmitt trigger dead-time?

The inverting is ok because each of the two ouput signals that were inverted coming out of the PIC are inverted again. Also, the schmitt trigger setup we are using gave some dead-time. I just don't understand why the circuit shorts out.

    schmitt trigger dead-time?

Our pulses full-bridge inverter pulses look like figure 1 in the diagram at the following link: https://www.electro-tech-online.com/custompdfs/2004/02/deadtimecircuit.pdf We are placing these circuits between the PIC and driver chips of the full-bridge inverter shown at the following link...

need help with dead time in PWM

Some dead-time is needed for switching a full-bridge inverter. Probably about 1us.

need help with dead time in PWM

Does anyone know how to add deadtime in the attached PWM code?

    LC filter design

I am working on a filter to for a power inverter to filter an 18kHz PWM pulse and leave the remaining 60Hz signal. I used the formula the formula fc = 1/(2*pi*sqrt(LC)) to calculate the the C value by plugging in different fc and L values. The problem is that the load will be varying. How...

    Full-bridge transistor dead-time?

I am trying to power a full-bridge inverter. I have some delay time between switching, but the circuit shorts out when 100VDC is applied to the input rails. I just want to make sure the deadtime is enough.

    Full-bridge transistor dead-time?

I realize that Mosfet transistors have a tdelay(on), tdelay(off), and fall and rise time delays. In finding out the total switching time delay time of the transistors, would I simply add the tdelay(on) and the tdelay(off)?

    Full-bridge transistor dead-time?

Does anyone know about how much dead-time would be needed between switching the two sets of transistors on a full-bridge inverter circuit?

    Full-bridge Inverter (spiking current)

Full-bridge problem Sorry about the schematic. I will go back and clean it up. Answers to your questions: 1. Yes, Q1-Q4 2. true 3. Yes, the 100VDC was measured across the 220uF filter capacitor (C1) 4. Yes, I have a isolation transformer connected to a variable transformer. The...

    full-brige problem

I have 10 ohm resistors in series with the gate to help prevent noise from entering the circuit. Today, I found that the Vgs voltage on the top two transistors increases with an increase in rail voltage. The Vgs pulses should remain at about 12V to properly drive the MOSFETs. I would think...

    full-brige problem

I am trying to build a full-bridge inverter circuit that will take 170VDC and give a 340 (peak-to-peak) or 120 VRMS output at 60Hz. In doing so, I am using IRF740 transistors [Vdss = 400V, Id = 10A] driven with IR2181 gate drivers at 18kHz. The voltage and current at the load (100-ohm, 225W)...
