Looking for an Interview with an Electrical Engineer.

Hi guys. Thanks for replying. As it happens, I already took this interview with someone, and was supposed to post such, but I totally forgot. Sorry. That being said, there is no reason I can't take two, or even three interviews. Point of fact, that would almost certainly blow my English prof...

Looking for an Interview with an Electrical Engineer.

Good day gents. (and lasses, of course) As per the requirements of my English 235 assignment, I am in need someone to do an interview with. The person must be "someone from your discourse community that you do not know." The interview will consist of ~10 questions, that are a (non specific)...

    Are these H-Bridges correct?

As Pommie has indicated, complimentary switching is conceptually the simplest/best way to do an H-bridge. The only problem you might run into is you can't simply connect the gates of opposing switches directly, as you have done in your schematic. If you try and do it this way you will get shoot...

Nice work Doctore, you design those boards yourself? Or are they kits? Man... wish I wasn't occupied with important life stuff, or I would stay and talk. I happened across a bunch of new rail-to-rail op amps for cheap and have been thinking about the P-MOS load ideas I had. Would love to get...

"The Scavenger" A Joule Thief inspired Boost regulator. (unfinished)

Sorry guys, haven't been on ETO much recently, lots of life stuff, so no time. As for all the broken links, a while back ETO's server HDD crashed and took a lot of stuff with it, including stuff from this thread. For this project's content, see the power supply section of the circuit's page...

    What can I do with 40+ LM2111N IC's ? (Audio IF amp IC's)

Oh hey. Sorry for the long delay, some serious stuff happened to me IRL somewhat recently. So I must admit I haven't had any time for the forums. Anyway... these chips. If either of you guys PM me an address, I would probably be willing to just give you some minus the cost of shipping/postage...

    Dummy Load II

Do you use city water? I could see that being potentially pricey. Otherwise, like my house, water bill is simply a bit more on the power bill.

    Dummy Load II

I could go on and on about this honestly. My philosophy is simply that the entire earth's hydrosphere makes a better coolant than recirculating a small amount of water in a radiator does. And a sealed coolant system is hard to do and costs more money.

Safe Operating Area. "S O A" Even if you run at max safe amps AND max safe volts... you can still operate in an area that will break the FET. For simplicity sake, I say that SOA = max watts. And for MOSFET, this is basically accurate.

Oh!!!! Temp sensor NOT regulator... i see... i see... Doctore, the capacitors I told you to add, yeah.............. I'm guna have to ask you to just go and remove those now please :o.

    Dummy load

Looks mostly good, though you should still put some decoupling capacitors from pins 1-3 and pins 2-3 for IC7. Start with a shop you know serves your area, then search by highest watts in the TO-220 package. Only pick parts over 300 watts. Most online shops have powerful searches that let...

    Dummy load

Strictly speaking, one does not have to get the best FET's money can buy to make this project work. You can use pretty much any FET. However, the better each individual FET is, the fewer you will need to reach your total combined wattage. Which means less soldering, less cost, and less chances...

    Dummy load

You should put decoupling/stabilizing capacitors from ground to VO and from ground to +VS on IC7, as close to the part as possible. Linear regulators like to oscillate without stabilizing caps.

Help with PSU (Temp control fan, load bank, & PWM circuit)

I agree with ronv, starting a new thread would be best. PM me the title and I may join in and help.

Worldwide lighting made 20% more efficienct.

It's an electronic system, so YES... you still would need a tech to work on it for obvious safety reasons. Well, I'm pretty much done with this. Even if Flyback and his system are getting verbally destroyed by everyone and their dog here, I still think just plastering the...
