Hi Electro-Tech,
This might be a silly/vague question but all these components are just plain overwhelming!
How does a person narrow it down to a specific component they need to use for a particular project? There are thousands of components....its insane!!
I have only figured out what I...
Hey Torben,
I guess I meant an LED and a phototransistor then. Sorry, the electronic terms are still not concrete in my mind.
What I am trying to do is:
A person will blow into a tube. They will blow on the piece of paper, which will trip the sensor. The sensor will then turn a heating...
Hi!
Just wondering if it is normal for a stepper motor to get hot during operation? Its not hot enough that I cant touch it, but definitely HOT
Thanks,
MBE
Thanks Torben,
I think if I have a phototransistor on one side and a photodiode on the other that might do it. BUT I have used Infared phototranisistors for a pulse detector. I think it is basically the same principal, right?
The only thing about using an infared sensor is that it seems SO...
Hi Electro Tech,
I need an optical sensor that can be "tripped" when a thin piece of paper moves past it.
Can anyone suggest a type of small optical sensor to start looking into?
My goal is to make a system where:
When the optical sensor is "tripped" it tells, through use with an arduino...
Thank you so much! That did it!!
My problem was that I had the Green and the Red wires hooked up to ground, not Power. Thats so confusing. THANK YOU SO SO SO SO SO SO MUCH!!!
I would have never realized that myself.
So...shamefully asking....what is the driver actually doing? I understand...
Dear Electro Tech,
I am very new to electronics so please bear with me.
I am TRYING to use an Arduino prototyping platform to operate a linear actuator.
I bought 1 Unipolar Linear Actuator
Digikey.com item # 403-1030-ND **broken link removed**
and 1 unipolar...
