Small owervief of my lab

Blog entry posted in 'Lab equipment', November 07, 2013.

Well, i figured i'd share couple photos of my lab. As i'm quite salvager, some could think how i can keep thinks organized, and keep hobby going.

Yesterday, i installed that shelf where 'scope, func.generator and soldering station rests. And yeah, pile used 9v batteries, enought juice for some experiments, and other stuff, hv-caps (discharged...), hairdrier heaters, and chemicals, so on.

You can also see that isolation-variac beast, i placed it under the table, right next to power cords. It has seperate switch, as i switch it on only when needed.

Then there's drawer-organizers, or what those are called, there is nice organization for most of my parts:
resistors, they occupy one drawer by themselves, like values 0.1->10M, one decade at one slot. at same drawer are also banana jacks/plugs, and bigger slot for random stuff.

capacitors take more than 2 drawers, i keep bigger ones un-organized, as they are mostly from computer PSU's, so their values are 470/680uf, pretty rarely used by me.

some of the ic's are on organizers too, diodes, switches, fuses etc, all small fry at those small organizers.

i plan to buy at least one more organizer, they'll fill up quickly enought.
other improvement in the future, is better light for 'shop
and more hangers/hooks for cables of different sorts.

Yeah, this one is pretty much final. (yeah, right...) biggest problem was adding supports for that extra shelf, where 'scope is. I dont keep all my test equipment ''at-hand'', like PSU's and other working, only what i use frequently. thanks for comment :).
