FAT32 Testing Soon!

Blog entry posted in 'Uncategorised', January 28, 2009.

Hey all, this is my first blog and im not even sure im doing it right :D

Here i will attempt to demystify the FAT32 File System using a PIC18F4620 as a starting point. I dont know how to do it 100% yet but i will intend to learn it and explain it.

I know microchip has a nice library that works well but to be "frank" with you its a pain in the butt to take someone elses huge code and incorporate it into something you already made or are making.

I will post the status every once and a while. The first post (this one) is to acknowledge that the blog stuff works.

The next post i will make will include all the actual parts (uC, ICs etc...), schematic(s) and some pictures also. I will try my best to explain as i go along what i learned is good to do and bad.

I might be doing the whole thing at the end like a PDF. Like i will post alot here and try to compile my findings into a nice PDF for download-ability.

    UPDATE: 02/02/2009
I ordered my camera last Friday and it should be in today :D

    Its a nice camera:

I ordered it mainly for project picture taking. I chose this camera for the following features:

    1. 2.5 Inch screen
    2. The Macro:
    Normal: 60cm ~ infinity, Macro: (Wide) 5cm ~ infinity; (Tele) 30cm ~ infinity

    3. Video @ 15/30 FPS (320x240/640 x 480)
    4. 8MP is more than enough. Even for special moments :)

When this camera comes in i will start taking pictures and finishing the schematic. Once done i will start on the coding part.

I hope a-lot of people find this helpful.
    (i also ordered: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1649021)
