Made small controller for computers case fans. The circuits principle is simple, only using npn as high side isn't the right way to do, but it works well in this case.
PWM signal is straight from motherboard, which is fed throught opamp buffer to optocoupler (used npn transistor earlier, but this works better) which then controls n-fet on/off by PWM. There is also fuse in power line before controller if things go sour.
