my idea is an infrared eye position detecting monocle.I use 4 qrd1114 or opb607a modules placed in the up,down, left, right position. The monocle is blacked out to prevent ambient light from entering.when The eye is looking towards a particular module the reflection off the cornea turns on the photodarlington transistor.

I have proven the concept of the device using this circuit.
I used 2 of these circuits to turn on led for the up ,down ,left ,right positions. One circuit for up/down ,one for left/right. There is no center position yet.It is probably posible to allow ambient light in and restore vision to the eye using modulated light .A filter would be used from the phototransistor to block the ambient light.A common PIC could then be used to translate the signals into mouse movements.here is a block diagram.
The safety of this circuit is unknown ,I am not responsible for any damages.
