LSI Logic, an industry leader in high-performance processor
cores, provides a complete portfolio of ARM® processors at
speeds up to 450 MHz. LSI Logic has processor cores available
from all four families, ARM7, ARM9, ARM10, and ARM11, in both
0.11 and 0.18 micron (drawn) technologies. All the ARM cores
are synthesized for seamless ASIC integration. In addition to
the traditional timing-closed hardmac cores, FlexCore® ARM
cores are also available allowing the cores to be configured
to individual customer requirements. System CoreWare™
processor systems and reference designs are also available
with all the ARM processor cores.
ARM processor cores, licensed from ARM Ltd. (Cambridge,
England), are now the most widely requested embedded processor
cores in the industry, being used across a most diverse range
of market segments. ARM's focus throughout their 10 year
history, has been to provide highly standardized cores with
good tool support, and full code compatibility from one
generation to the next. Through this strategy ARM has grown to
be the highest volume embedded core architecture with over 400
million units shipping in 2001.
ARM has also been very successful in partnering with well
over 100 3rd party companies, who between them now offer a
broad array of tools, RTOSs, application software, and ARM
related services. ARM cores are popular in markets such as
portable communications, hand-held computing, multimedia,
digital consumer and embedded solutions.
