x-10 transmit & receiver test

hi.how can i test my x-10 transmit & receiver circuit using function generator and oscilloscope???just to confirm my receiver circuit weather it receive the pulse from the transmitter circuit(using function generator).my idea is inject the 120khz to transmitter circuit using function generator and detect the presence of the 120khz at the receiver using oscilloscope.my idea is as shown in link below(figure):

what is that u need in this ??.just follow the tx and rx pin connections..get the datasheet start working...
