Toy car rotation and pick and place

I need to rotate a toy car which is coming on a track by 90 degrees so that it will be on it's side, which will make it easier to pick and place in the packing box, where the cars are packed in side ways. I need to come up with a mechanism to turn the toy car and then automatically pick and place it in the packing case.
Thank You!

Is the car stable when placed on it's side? Could you have the track twist into the 90 degree bend? With a support housing, like a snug tunnel.

Are all the car shapes the same? If so, then you could use an electromagnet to hold the car. Getting it to be placed into a box shouldn't be too difficult.

What rate are you looking to achieve?
Coz there are other means of doing this while getting high "boxing" rates - but are costly.

At what rate do the cars come down the track to be boxed?
