I'd like to know if anyone knows what this component is.

I have some TE215N10E units and no data sheets. It was manufactured
by Motorola. It appears to be either some sort of scr/triac device or if
I'm lucky a really high powered mosfet. With my luck it'll be a bridge
rectifier but there are no polarity markings so my hope is it's a mosfet.
It is about 1.25" square with some big honkin' screw tabs with built in
nuts for what appears to be 6-32 screws. Any Ideas? I have over 2000
databooks but the thought of digging them out of storage has slowed me
down a bit. well let me know if you've heard of them. I've found them
listed on surplus parts sites but without data sheets. They hint at the units
also being manufactured by TI also.

P.S.

I have about 50,000 components I'm sorting through going back to old
CK722's and 2n54's ect.... they are on eBay from time to time so other
folks can use them, and no I'm not making a profit or anything. Just
getting rid of the accumulation of 37 years of experimenting. Hell I still
have some of those old TI TTL ceramic pin-lead IC's from the 60's. And
the stuff takes up way to much room. Wierd optical components, reference
diodes, GaAs fets you name it looking for a good home somewhere. And
without EPA permission I can't even dump the BeO transistors in the trash.
Ah well. There are even some klystrons and 100-1000 watt uhf power
tubes looking for that mad...err... scientifically bent individual in need.
Laser tubes, Laser diodes, wierd detectors (regular & cryogenic), lenses
and filters. Well you can see where this is going.............

It's a FET alright, and a big one at that.

need some of those

hi doctor,

Could you spare some laser diodes , I'll take care of S&H (to India). We do not get any over here . I could really use those in my optical transmitter project.
