hey guys,
ive been working on a project that requires a distance measurement technology having range upto 400 mts and costing less than $100..(more or less would work) ultrasound wont work
suggest something in lasers or any new technology...
thank u

any suggestions would be welcome:)

accuracy of say....0.02%
and min distance of around 15 mts
do you have any idea of other technology than lasers that i can use for acurate distance measurement??
thanks

Range 15 to 400m at 0.02%. I do not know of a way.
GPS will never make 15m+/- 0.02%. The 400m is no problem.

0.02% is looking for incredible accuracy :nailbiting:

I would imagine a commercial system would be struggling for that accuracy?, and certainly not a prayer for under $100

Here's a sample from a manufacturers website:

This one looks pretty good:

But it's no where near $100 :arghh:

Or this one for less than half:

I had a golf rangefinder which does this. It was accurate to 2-3 meters and lot more than $100. The accuracy was much better on courses where they use reflective marks on the pins.

What's on the other end? Just any object or an electronic device that you can talk to?
