difference between npn and pnp transistor

in npn, one p-type region is sandwiched between two n-type regions. n-type regions have electrons as majority carriers so npn has more of electron current. whereas pnp has more of hole current. And electrons have more mobility than holes. so npn is faster in operation... so it is used more widely than pnp.
