Below are caps of my original circuit and just a diagram of how ideally it'd work with a MCU. It should be simple enough to program, just checking the input ports status and changing outputs accordingly. My question is: can a pic do multiple things at once, like can it check the direction input pin, the braking input, and measure and output the speed all at the same time? I have some experience with mcu's (experience not necessarily confidence) and would ideally like to use C to program it, it seems simple enough but my inexperience with mcu's could gum up the works. does anyone have any suggestions or ideas how to simplify this? either mcu or some sort of chip that allows you to program a bunch of logic gates into it to clean up everything...
sorry i had typed a long post previously and reliable ol' IE froze up...sigh
thanks
