Bridge quad sampiling detector

Hi All:
Does anyone have any advice on building a front end sampling scope detector/pulse stretcher for use with typical DSOs?
 
What specs and interface!
 
Want 3 Ghz or so.
Looking at Avago series 281x and 282x HSMS bridge quads with a balun for a balanced strobe to derive the sample and hold.

Strobe trigger via an ADCMP580 comparator. Means I need to keep the input signal attenuated properly.
