Atmega 16L is the same as atmega 16?

I purchased an Atmel ATmega16. It reads 16L on the face of the MC. Is it the same as 16? Or will it have a separate datasheet? I googled up but could not find any. 16L is not on the atmel's website either...

Thanks, didn't know that.

In that case, wouldn't Atmega 16A be the best? It has a clock of 0-16MHz and an operational voltage of 2.7 - 5.5. Does Atmega 16A lack any important feature that 16 has?
