hello friends.
thanks for your earlier suggestions.i am still wondering..whether those infrared sensors are affected by daylight. because wht we use in TV is infrared.Now i am really confused about the application of line following robot. where this is used. kindly reply.

we use a modulated infrared beam and this's highly immune to interference.
