Robocon starter :) - Electronic Circuits Projects Diagrams Free

hi there,i'm new here,also new in robocon
i'd like to ask anyone that can help me from where to start,books to read
circuits i'll need,i wanna form a general overview about the whole robot
if anyone have an illustrating video about robot building principles,that would be great
i wanted to ask also,if there is a program user to help in design circuits and mechanical design,and test about balance and whether circuits would work or not

and is this the first time ur going to participate to this contest and where do u come from ?
