ir sensors mousey the junkbot - Electronic Circuits Projects Diagrams Free

Hello everyone!
this is my first robo project.
i am trying to hack the mouse and use its ir sensor. i took logitech mouse. Actually there are two components one is black and another is transparent white. i took black as the emitter. however when i removed the ir emitter i found it to have 4 pins :? i don't know how to use it?
can any one give some idea :?:

the black one may be the receiver.
