Hi guys i m having some difficulty in reading can messages i m using formal way of connecting mcp2551
in this way
1 txd
4 rxd
2 gnd
3 vcc
5 gnd
6,7 canh , canl
8 nc


but here i m posting here one diagram of connecting mcp2551 that has pair of RC AT CANL AND canh pins and quite high value resistor of 4.7 k at Rs pin.
i have seen diagram of 10 ohm resistor but this one is quite large so please help out i have soic packages not dip so i can ony make connection on pcb boards, so could any one tell the reason for RC component and 4.7 K resistor, thanx
