Default need a good *FREE* PIC C complier and matching tutorial

"need a good *FREE* PIC C complier and matching tutorial" - says eveything dosent it? any help would be great, i know the speed advantage of assembler, but i would like to learn PIC C, as i like the C language, so any help would be great

The only free PIC C compiler I know is SDCC (Ported for PIC). Its originally an 8051 C Compiler but now it has been ported to PICs also.

Default PIC C compilers

You may want to look over this page as well (under compilers):

There doesn't seem to be an equivalent to GNU-AVR for the pic, here's the link for the AVR C compiler:
