4-bit PIC-LCD assembler-tutorial - Electronic Circuits Projects Diagrams Free

I have been looking for a good assembler tutorial/guide that involves a 4-bit PIC-LCD interface with the PIC preferably running at 4MHz and the LCD beeing of hd44780-type. I have found some code examples but either they haven't been complete or they have been to complex for me to understand (I'm new to both electronics and assembler)

Does anyone here have any tips on where I could look?
