Default regarding Timer1 module in PIC16F877...

    hi all,

in the datasheet, it states that if i were to use Timer1 in the timer mode, the timer increments every instruction cycle , what does that mean ???

does it mean that the timer1 register will increase by 1 on every rising edge of the clock cycle.... where clock is 1/4 of the crystal / oscillator.

that is, if i were to use a 4mhz crystal / oscillator, my timer1 register will increase at a rate of 1mhz the moment i enable timer1 ???

    thanks a lot...
