The chips are at work, I'll have a count tomorrow how many there are, and try and find out what postage would be.

There's also someone else interested, so I'll probably split them!.

i cod use 10 or 20 of them.As for the shiping it dosent need to be fast yust the cheapest posible (the shiping for a cuple of PICs from USA costed just $1.70)as for payment wod it be posible to pay you wen it arives in cash?

meaby for $4 (shod cover the postage and let you about $1-3 for you)

As far as I'm aware they are parallel programmed only?, but MicroChip no longer list the programming specifications, so I can't be sure - however IC-Prog doesn't list it!.

PIC16C57 is not the same family as PIC16F5x :!:

I have them, by the 100's and Nigel right about the paralel programming !

Quote:
The PIC16C5X Series can be programmed by applying
the 12-bit wide data word to the 12 available I/O pins
while the address is generated by the on-chip Program
Counter. The MCLR/VPP pin provides the programming
supply voltage (VPP). Programming/verify chip enable
is controlled by the T0CKI pin while the OSC1 pin controls
the Program Counter.

No it's not, the 16F57 is the modern replacement for the 16C57.

If they were serially programmable I'd use them myself 8)

The Pic16C57 is not serially programmable. It's an old generation of Pics MCUs. It has no Timers, only One interrupt source, and is OTP. The very limited resources on this pic makes it quazi-impossible to do usefull developments on it using a compiler. Most of the compilers on the market (Basic, C, Pascal ....) do not support this chip and some times PARTIALLY supports it. The problem is that this chip is a 12 bit core, its like the 12c50x family, it's not a 14bits core (like the 16c84). The only way to do something usefull with this mcu is to use asm.

No!

BTW, I've had a count (after dusting the tubes), I've got 273 of them!, 17 tubes of 15, and 2 tubes of 9.

This would make for a pretty large parcel, so I'm far more interested in someone collecting them, rather than having to parcel them up.

funny...

One post about how bad our throw away society has become...

And here another crushing perfectly working parts 'cause they are a bit older.

It's that i dont have a parallel programmer eighter or i defenately would buy some of 'em. I'm sure i can find many uses for them.

Hey .. Nigel, I would like to get them. I have developped some specialised circuits Firmware (with mpasm) so far for the 16C57RC and I would like to use it again for the XT Version. So do not throw them ... I will pay for postage.
