can u pls help me how to interface a mobile phone with the zilog microcontroller because zilog does not have a built in uart.

Write a software UART!, or search for ready done code on the net, software UART's are very simple to write.

Which Zilog microcontroller are you talking about, because almost all of them have a hardware UART, except for the wierdo specialized OTP ones. Unless you're talking about the z80, which is a microprocessor, not a microcontroller.

Zilog Z80 hs uart as well.
Basically, if you only want to send data to/from GSM, serial interface would be sufficient.
