Default Latex Math Equations

Latex is a high-quality system to generate complex math algarithymes that cant be created using normal text formats.

The best way to explain is by showing you.

Example 1:

Code:
[ latex ] \int [ /latex ]
Code:
 \int
Example 2:

Code:
[ latex ] \Large e^x=\lim_{n\to\infty} \left(1+\frac~xn\right)^n [ /latex ]
Code:
 \Large e^x=\lim_{n\to\infty} \left(1+\frac~xn\right)^n

Wow this looks cool but it is a little is tricky!

Let's start with something a bit more simple first.

Like how would I do ohms law, what about I = V/R?

I've given it a go but it doesn't work.

I = \frac~VR

How do I get rid of that x?

Alright, I'll rtfm, I'll look at thoush liks you've posted.

Yes it is very advanced stuff but its quite fun to learn.

yeah, that 'x=' at the beginning doesn't make much sense. It also doesn't appear to have support for text/multiple equations/etc, ie - it seems to be only for formatting a single equation, which is the important part, but I am guessing the rogue 'x=' has something to do with that... (because it's not something that happens in "normal" latex)

Take, for instance:
Code:
Let ( f ) be the function defined by ( f(x) = 3x + 7 ).
taken from the LaTeX primer at:
http://www.maths.tcd.ie/~dwilkins/La.../MathMode.html

and it results in:
 Let ( f ) be the function defined by ( f(x) = 3x + 7 ).

rather than the result you see on that webpage.

Electromaster, do you perhaps have a website you could refer us to where we can read about the specifics (limitations, syntax changes, etc) of this forum-oriented LaTeX module?

You're right, I don't know where that x is comming from.

 f(x) = 2x + \frac{x - 7}{x^2 + 4}]

Just experimenting with a few simple formulae.

X_C=  \frac{1}{2 \pi FC}\

Z = \sqrt{X_C + R}

R2 = R1 \frac{V_{OUT}-V_{REF}}{R1 \times I_{ADJ} + V_{REF} }\

V_{OUT} = V_{REF} \left(1+ \frac{R1}{R2}\ \right)+I_{ADJ} \times R2

This isn't that difficult. I feel I'm comfortable with enough to get by and I'll still need to RTFM every now and the but it's easy when you know how. I'd rather use Latex than have to attach formula generated by Writer, it saves the copy and pasting.

Yes it works!!
F={\frac {kq_{{1}}q_{{2}}}{{r}^{2}}}
<br /> F={\frac {kq_{{1}}q_{{2}}}{{r}^{2}}}<br />

You should enter like this:
[ latex]F={\frac {kq_{{1}}q_{{2}}}{{r}^{2}}}[/latex]
[ latex]<br /> F={\frac {kq_{{1}}q_{{2}}}{{r}^{2}}}<br />[/latex]

with no space in front of the word "latex"

You can actually get vb code to displaty by using [noparse][/noparse] tags, just wrap them around the code you want to display.

For example you can prevent codes from being converted to smilies.

[noparse];) :D :o :) :( :confused: :mad: :p :rolleyes: :eek: [/noparse]

Question Factorise this one please.

I have been troubled by this factorisation sum for quite some time now. Please help me.

/frac{/sqrt{2a^{2}b^{2}+2b^{2}c^{2}+2a^{2}c^{2}-a^{4}-b^{4}-c^{4}}}{4}

Please post a picture of the formula you want; use an easy to use program such as MS Equation for Word or OpenOffice Math.
