    Default motor run caps

    HI,

    Why some of motor run cps have 3 pins instead of just 2?

    It's possible there are two different caps in the same can.

    See if there is more than one value printed on the cover.

    It's a dual cap, the smaller rating for the condensor fan and the other for the compressor motor.

    For HVAC uses that is (most commonly).

    Edit: BTW, I sure hope you aren't "rubbing" the motor with these, motors get hot!
