Default AC current regulater ACR

Has any one seen a circuit that regulates or limits AC current.
That is overall current used.
Uses a Trac or SCR in its design. This is for a transformer or Motor.

I wish to adapt it so it has adjustable current limit.

If depends on what you want.

Do you need a constant current source or just over load protection?

For now I'll assume you need overload protection.

If it's <50VAC then you can get Poly switches (PTC resistors) which go high impedance when an overload is encountered.

At higher voltages you'll need to use a circuit breaker, most are manula reset but you can buy ones that auto reset.
