    How To: Support This Forum

    Electro Tech is really an amazing site, with the biggest group of electronic enthusiasts, hobbyists and professionals, it allows us all to come together and chat or discuss the things we love, and that of course is electronics..

    However, as the site grows it becomes more and more expensive to run. The hardware is one thing, but also the software licensing, maintaining security, and data backups all cost money and while we do have google ads and a small amount of sponsored advertising it only supplements paying these bills at the end of the month.

    If you would like to support the site, please become a Forum Supporter. It costs a small price of $2 per month (you can choose to pay monthly, every 6 months or yearly - and stop at any time) and you will not only be assisting the continued growth and development of Electro Tech you will also be able to enjoy some additional perks:

    * A supporter status button.
    * Unlimited private messages.
    * Ability to set custom titles.
    * Less adverts.
    * VIP area (coming soon).

    This list will grow as functionality is added, but the main thing is you are helping out your community!

    My paypal account went all screwy on me, and I can't use it for anything. I ended up closing it, and it's not allowing me to open a new one. Is there a credit/debit card option, instead?

    A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

    Reminds me I should contribute again. There was a Credit Card option that ElectroMaster set up when I donated. It should still be there. I don't do the pay pal thing at all.

    Please do not PM me with forum related questions. Let's keep things in the open forum. Thank you.

    I only see PayPal and 2Checkout links. Doesn't say anything about credit cards, that I can see....

    I've had hours of entertainment here and would like to contribute but all the options I see have an * indicating they are recurring charges. Is that how it works or can I do 6 months or a year at a time?

    Okay, you can ignore my post. I've been given permission to borrow a friend's paypal account (one that actually works), so hopefully things will work out for me soon

    Of late some add software is turning words and phrases within posts into links to adds.

    It would be nice if you could turn this off for forum supporters.

    I used to come across that all the time, but after installing adblock I haven't had a single problem. If you use Chrome or Firefox, you should be able to remove those altogether, not just on ETO. Definitely one of the best things I think I've ever installed on my computer

    Nice solution thanks. So I should send the $20 I use to support ETO to the author of addblock instead? Sort of kidding but not entirely.
