Default how 'bout. . .?

A load is a short (open) circuit if it draws all (none) of the current available from a source.

A load is "effectively" a short (an open) circuit if it draws >99% (<1%) of the current available from a source.

Sometimes shorts, and opens, are intentional

I'm with Hero999.

If it's not a short, is it a long?
