Default darlington compatible

Hi,

I need to replace a DArlington TIPP116, but of course not available anywhere. The best I have been able to find is a BD682.

The BD682 datasheet shows R1 and R2, but I cannot find the internal resistors in TIPP116 datasheet.

The pinout of these two darlingtons is not the same the TIPP is ECB where the BD682 is BCE; if I just mount the BD the other way around will it still work or is the internal diode going to be a problem? I cannot find whether the TIPP has got the internal diode or not.

Attached are the two datasheet. I would appreciate anyones input.

Thanks
Gerard

Depending on the circuit, you might be able to replace it with a power MOSFET.

Since the electrical specs appear to be identical to TIP116, I suspect that TIPP116 is the same part in a smaller package. Just plug it in so that base goes to base, etc., and I'll bet it will work. Be aware that the tab on the TIP116 connects internally to the collector, so be careful what it touches.
Digikey has TIP116.
