| I hope you can see the picture. (Winder.jpg)I used the attachment feature. I am using fishing line in the picture because it was what I had available. It is Sunday morning and I did not want to waste copper wire for this photo. You cannot see the clutched spool. The wing nut holds a black Delrin arm with a through hole with a white Delrin insert just over the spool. Inserts are made for nearly each wire size. The gold spider nut is attached to a linear slide which is driven by a stepper motor. To get my gauge or scale settings, I hand wind a full pass keeping track of the number of turns and measuring the width of the spool gap. I put these numbers into my VisualBasic program along with the number of layers needed. I have made four layer coils using large 22 awg wire and they look great. When I get in the high 30s awg sizes, I see where the wire winds over the wire below and I get the spiral "bump". The important part is that I can make two equivalent coils which was my aim. | |

| Very nice work. Did you build it using a lathe ? It looks like one to some extent. | |

| I used a linear slide and a cast iron slotted bar that was used with indicators to confirm accuracies. | |
