Default Help..what is piggy-backed switch

Whats the meaning of "The on-off switch is piggy-backed to potentiometer" ...what is piggy-backed switch ?

Its like a volume control on some audio devices, when the volume is turned down, fully counter clockwise, the switch on the back of the control is operated and the audio device is switched off.

Basically its a variable potentiometer that has a switch mechanism connected to the pot shaft, so when the shaft is turned fully CCW the switch operates.

Do you follow OK.
