Default 12vDC(car socket) to 240vAC(40 VA only) inverter

i need some circuit diagrams to invert the 12v from my car socket to a 110/240vAC output.

very low power will do, only 30-40VA needed. i just need to charge my digicam batteries(AA/AAA) while on the run.

Battery charger specifications:
input: 100-240 V AC, 50/60 Hz, 16-21 VA

thanks in advance.

Hi 555addict,

Here are a couple: http://www.discovercircuits.com/C/co-dctoac.htm

It may be simpler and cheaper to find the output voltage of your charger and build a regulator circuit to run directly from the car's 12 volt system.

thanks for that, i'll have a look into that site.

some reasons for not using the output voltage:
1. output : 1.2 V, 1275mA !!!! this one is used to charge 2100mAh batteries.
2. it's got internal circuitry which controls the charging period, i do not want to bypass that. NiMH batteries are very costly.
