I have an general question. What is the most power audio amplifier for professional uses e.g. open rock concert? How many KW per one amplifier ?
How this powerful amplifier works? Transistors?

But just as you don't use one speaker, you don't use one amplifier - so you could use ten 3KW amplifiers to give 30KW, and so on. Quote:

OK, but if we talking about open concert like this one http://english.aljazeera.net/mritems...243289_1_9.jpg then don't usage standard domestic socket for power supply.

A quick Google search suggests that commercial concert power amplifiers are mostly in the 1kW to 8kW range. Crown says in one tutorial that an open concert may work with only 15kW but some large touring sound companies often use 80kW to 400kW total. Of course Crown wants to sell lots of amplifiers.
Although you won't get 400kW from a standard domestic supply, the amplifiers are usually specified for 120/240V mains. Common trailer or truck mounted generators can be obtained to supply 120 and/or 240V. |

Yes, there are often mobile 3-phase generators.
Keep in mind that the speakers aren't positioned all up the front on the stage. There will be a delay unit and speakers positioned at intervals down the sides of the audience, the amplifiers are usually placed near the speakers which is the reason for using the mobile generators.

There was an article years back in ETI, about a big tour of Australia - they had special electricity supplies laid on at every big venue they played. I can't remember the current they required, but it was substantial, three phase, and a SOLID neutral. They also took their own large earth spikes, and soaked the ground with salted water for an excellent earth connection.
