    Default Passive & active filters

    Hi there - can anyone give me an example of a passive low pass filter and an example of an active low pass filter?

    passive filters use RLCs, no op amps or transistors. Active filters use powered devices such as op amps and transistors. Passive filters cannot yield gain. Active filters can give you gain. etc. etc.
