Hi all,

Got a little problem, the DVD player will not initialize.

When you power it on all you get is a dim flicker near the 'Play' light. You may need to refer to the picture, I know its not a cuircuit diagram but its the best I could do: http://www.sector101.fsnet.co.uk/cyb...psu/index.html

I have measured the voltages both with the DVD-ROM drive power connected and without on J15 and J16 (bottom right)

With power connected: J15=11V, J16=1V

Without: J15=9V J16=5V.

Does anybody have any idea what is wrong? Will it be one of the smoothing caps?

It's ok, by luck I found that the chassis screws holding the drive down were shorting the 5V line to earth! Doh..
