Hi All,
how to protect 78L05 from being short circuit ? should i use diode between output and input terminals ?.....what is the value of the diode Thank you |

The 78L05 has inbuilt short circuit protection, see jpg The diode across the 78L05 is to protect it from a reverse voltage. Usually a 1N4001 diode would do the job. EDIT: this 2nd jpg shows more detail, I realise its a LM317, but it shows the purpose of the diodes.
