hello all
what is the difference between Astable and Monostable in 555?

An astable is a continuous oscillation.
A monostable makes a single output pulse of a calculated duration when it is triggered by an external low-going input.

More precisly bistable means either state is stable and a pulse changes it's state. flip flops come in so many different varieties as to be a completly different topic.
