Hi there got a Led display unit from someone cant get it to work via serail port
is there some one that can assist me or point me in the right direction

Eh, you're not giving us much information here!!

Most obvious things we should know in order to answer your question would be:
-What brand and model of display unit is it?
-What software are you trying to control it with?
-Does the display do anything at all? Do you get any sort of response back from the software?
-Have you plugged it in?

If you tell us, then someone might be able to give you some answers (but I still can't promise that any of us will know...).
