is a 10K resistor good to pull up/down an input of a 74HC CMOS circuit?

Yes ofcourse. 100k also work...

this is what i thought so.......but there was a problem in the circuit so that some inputs weren't pulled up. actually it was because the common point of the reistors wich should have been connected to VCC was left open.

bogdanfirst	thanks this is what i thought so.......but there was a problem in the circuit so that some inputs weren't pulled up. actually it was because the common point of the reistors wich should have been connected to VCC was left open. thanks!
