I also found this on the net.

5.4 GE TELEVISIONS / RCA TELEVISIONS / PROSCAN TELEVISIONS
Read the _ SERVICE MODE WARNING _ before proceeding.

To enter service mode, push and hold the [Menu] button on the set. While holding, push and release the [Power] button, then the [Vol +] button.

You will now have some information on the screen: "P0 V0"

To actually be able to change these values, you must push [Vol +] on the remote so the information reads V76. Then pushing on the Channel +/- will change the "P" value.

P1 - 3 are error codes. If there is a problem with the set that can be self-diagnosed, the "V" will report the code. These codes are available in the RCA repair manual.

P4 - 7 control the horizontal size, shift, vertical size and shift.

You may also find a summary leaflet for the service tech clipped somewhere inside the chassis. The procedures for getting into the service mode, as well as the service items of interest will be there.

If you're attempting to adjust color or geometry errors, you'll need the Video Essentials DVD, Laser Disc or some other source of test material.
I have a RCA 27" hd tv model HD27F534T & I need to set the Horizontal width on the set. Can you help. Thanks

I hate to bump such an old thread, but I have a question about adjusting overscan on my RCA D52W26 Rear-projection 52" HDTV. I don't mind the little overscan on the top on bottom, but I do mind the about 7% overscan on the left and right sides of the screen. I want to see everything possible.

I have read the previous suggestions about the service menu. But I noticed a discrepancy. I want to adjust the horizontal size/width. Someone said P04, but someone else said P01 or P05. On other websites, the number is different. I am more inclined to believe bluvet79's post since he copied what he saw on the TV itself. So, who should I believe??? And in bluvet79's case, what do "Horiz. Phase (50 or 60Hz) ", "EWDC (width)", "EW Amplitude (50 or 60Hz)", and "EW Tilt (50 or 60Hz)" actually mean? What do they do? Which one will help me reduce the horizontal size/width to reduce overscan?

Thank you all so much for your help in advance. And once again, sorry to bump a year-old topic.
