    Default Mosfet Motor Driving

    Hi
I want to drive a dc motor in simgle direction but control its speed. I want to use a mosfet with pulse width modulation. Please can someone tell me how the protection diode is to be connected?
    Thanx.

have the FET as a low-side drive and put the diode across the motor cathode at +VE rail

have a look for simple chopper cct's, effectively a machine can be treated as an inductor thus the simple low-side drive chopper cct with anti-parallel diode to provide freewheel path is valid
    Nothing is impossible.

If you use the search function you will find many a thread about DC-voltage control, brushed-DC machine control, freewheel diode, Chopper ccts and protection diodes

    here is a start
Ques about power mosfet internal diode

I even posted a picture/circuit in this one

Please do not make more than one thread asking the same question.

I do not answer private messages asking for help because no one else can: benefit from advice I may give or correct me if I'm wrong.

Please ask on the open forum if you have a question and I'll be happy to help,
    if I know the answer.
