I have been using Uni-T model UT70B multimeter for a long time, but now its computer interface is not working properly, it doesnt log data from the meter, when the software starts it gives an error 'Privileged Instruction'. Please help... I am a bit desperate.......... I am using XP by the way.

I guess it is the problem with permissions for accessing serial port.

So how do I fix it?

Is the program not suitable for Windows XP?.

Nope ![]() I have set its compatibility to Windows 98, now it gives 'Access Violation at Address 0119A67B. Write of Address 8C0118DD'. When I click open the interface opens, but doesnt seem to communicate with the meter.

Tried porttalk, it solved the privileged instruction problem but now it gives Access Violation on all compatibility modes....... still not communicating.

Easy answer! - write yourself a new program to do the data logging, and this time make it XP compatible (assuming you can't just download a later version?).

Try http://www.industrialmightandlogic.com. They have some data logging stuff there along with an activeX control for talking to Data Aquisition/control cards if that helps.
