LCD connectors, which do you prefer? 14pin DIP or SIP?

I have found both are generally available but when making a PCB I want to choose one or the other. A 7x2 pin layout or single 14 to 16 pin (with backlight)

If you making a PCB for it, add BOTH to the layout - far more versatile for only a little extra work.

I have a number of LCD's I use, they are pretty well evenly split betweent he two formats. As I only use veroboard (no PCB's) I wire my LCD's via short wires to MOLEX 10 pin plugs, as used in my PIC tutorials.
