HI all,

I have an fault in my digital solder iron,

I have studing the working of it and every thing works grate, exept the heating of the iron.

I measured the resistance it has 16Ohms... the voltage it works on is 24volts..and the watage was 48Watt sow the 16 should me 12 ohms..

Well i have studied the iron on circuit and it uses one TRIAC BT163

how can i test the triac??

The gate is powered with 13volts...
it has an 335Ohms to ground... connected...
but when i measure the voltage on the gate it only gives 1 volt..

When i put the multimeter in Diode setting i measure 0,3volt from the gate to the Output pin (1).. no other values found..

any one ideas??

The best thing to do is just replace it.
