| You definately need to get catalogs! I wouldn't even think about ordering from mouser or digikey without one. The only two things I use the website for is to search and see if they have a part number, and to order; never to browse, they're not set up for that. Just go the mouser, digikey, jameco, etc, and order a catalog. They're free  All you need to know about SMD components is how to solder them. Just look up something like 'SMD tutorial' on google.

| OK...I got everything I need, thanks for all the help, really appreciate it. Ordered 60 dollars  work of ICs, transistors, and everything else. (Don't you just love it when you go to buy a few things and end up buying everything you think you MIGHT need...or is it just me. thanks for everything. George L. | |

| Catalogues? Geez, those went out with the LM741's. Just download the PDF's. I have to call to get off the catalogue lists. Everytime I get one it goes into the recycling. I just ordered $110.00 from Mouser and I forgot to put on voltage regulators, which sucks. Ordering from Canada, Mouser shipping is expensive. They used to have a USPS ground shipping option for cheap, but that option is gone.

Besides, I like having it on paper.

| Altho Digikey has an excellent part search by parameter, I use the catalog for browsing. I order online and download data sheets to my hard drive. I order mostly from Mouser and Allied because they don't have a minimum order. Mouser will find an equivalent part but otherwise doesn't allow searching by parameter.
