Have you ever seen a cattle prod?, I've lived all my life in the country (and spent a lot of time on farms, including rounding cattle up, rescuing them from rivers, pulling calves out of their mothers with a rope etc.) and never seen one, or heard of one.

The 'Crocodile Dundee' method seems as good as any - fun if it fails, and squeeze hard if it doesn't!
