Default How do you determine capacitors in this circuit?

Can anyone please explain the effect of using different sized capacitors C1 and C2 in this basic circuit?

Would you need to take into account capacitve reactance and if so how would that affect the circuit with regards frequency input/output?

Am I correct that this circuit has a gain of 10? R1 should be 1k !!

Many thanks
Graham

thisl link might help you understand the purpose of the two capacitors (they are called coupling capacitors)

And in this link they have explained how they choose the coupling capacitor for their circuit
